MASAGANA

About Masagana

Building a home for Filipino businesses.

Masagana Group of Companies is building a Filipino-led home for Filipino businesses, in the UK and the Philippines. We share the warmth, flavours and craft of the Philippines with everyone. It began with one family's cooking, and we're building it into a whole community.

Our story

It started with a meal to share.

D'Cocina is our first business. It began with one Filipino family cooking for celebrations, with always enough for whoever walked in. People kept coming back, and soon they were bringing their own families.

Today there are three D'Cocina restaurants, in Holloway, Birmingham and Bolton, along with events and catering and a central commissary kitchen. Behind them sits Masagana, the parent company that helps each business grow and look after the next.

Now we want to bring in more of the Philippines: cafés, bakeries, wellness, barbershops and more, all open to everyone. We call what we're building a family of businesses, because that is how it feels. Bayanihan (community spirit, lifting together) is how we work, and kapwa (others as family) is who we work for.

What the name means

Masagana (abundant) is Tagalog for abundant, or prosperous. For us it is also a promise:

Making Abundance Sustainable Across Growth And New Achievements

Our vision

A united Filipino community, wherever it calls home.

  • A future where Filipino communities in every part of the world are united by one purpose: to share and celebrate our culture.
  • A future where we help one another, in business and in everything else.

Our mission

Open doors, and keep them open.

  • Build a Filipino business community in the UK and around the world.
  • Give aspiring entrepreneurs a platform to own a business in the UK, with the support to make it succeed.
  • Help people and partners take part in something that matters and makes a difference.
  • Create jobs and opportunities for everyone who wants to work in the UK.
  • Open up more business opportunities, in the UK and in the Philippines.

How it connects

Each business feeds the next.

Masagana sits at the centre. D'Cocina is the first business and already open; the others are the kinds we want to bring in. Behind them is the engine that keeps every door open, and the community that grows from it all.

02 · IMPORT & EXPORT

From Philippine farms and makers, to British tables.

Rice, sauces, snacks, coffee, coconut and handcrafts: good things made in the Philippines by people who care about them.

We bring them here, so British kitchens, shelves and homes can taste and hold a little of the Philippines, and so the farms and makers behind them have a market that grows.

03 · BUSINESS SERVICES

The support behind every business.

Starting and running a business is a lot to carry alone. So we carry some of it with you: funding, accounting, marketing and IT.

It is the same help we give our own restaurants, shared with the businesses we grow alongside.

04 · PROPERTY

A place to call home.

Commercial properties for our businesses to open in, and homes for our people to live in.

A good space matters: it is where a kitchen finds its rhythm, a family finds its feet and a community finds somewhere to gather.

The supply route

From farm to family table.

A simple road, with people we know at each end of it.

The road ahead

Where we are, and where we are going.

A clear road, one step at a time. Each stage is built on the one before it.

  1. Today

    D'Cocina, open and serving

Three restaurants in Holloway, Birmingham and Bolton, plus events, catering and a commissary kitchen, while we build the support for more businesses.

  2. Next

    More Filipino businesses, together

We aim to bring more kinds of Filipino businesses together, and to open D'Cocina franchises across the UK, towards 30 branches.

  3. Then

    Filipino Towns in the UK

Places where Filipino food, businesses and culture gather, open to all. More than one is already in the pipeline.

  4. Beyond

The same blueprint, in new countries

Wherever Filipinos make a home, we want a table waiting for them, and for their neighbours.

Tuloy po kayo.Come in.

It means please come in, you're welcome here. Whether you'd like to invest, open a D'Cocina, work with us or simply say hello, we'd love to hear from you.
